Mahjong 88

Mahjong 88, developed by Play'n GO, is a unique video slot that utilizes an 8×8 grid instead of the conventional spinning reels. The symbols in the game are designed as Mahjong-style tiles, and players earn wins by connecting clusters of four or more matching tiles either horizontally or vertically. Instead of offering free spins, the game allows winning clusters to disappear from the grid, making way for new symbols to cascade in, which can lead to several consecutive wins in one turn.

A notable feature of the game is the Fortune Frog meter, which fills up as players clear winning tiles. Upon collecting 33 winning symbols, one of four special modifiers is activated. These modifiers can turn a tile into a scatter, transform symbols, select edges to change adjacent tiles, or eliminate neighboring tiles by choosing one. Collecting 88 winning symbols triggers the Super Charge mode, which applies a 5× multiplier to all wins during that round.

The game also showcases four seasons—spring, summer, autumn, and winter—each associated with distinct wild symbol effects. For instance, in spring, wilds can randomly appear up to twelve times on the grid; in summer, they eliminate adjacent symbols; autumn wilds may show up in larger quantities or impact edge symbols; while winter wilds remain on the grid after winning combinations. As players advance, the seasons change after a predetermined number of spins, and a Season Bonus is awarded when transitioning, reflecting a portion of the wins from the previous season.

Additionally, there are Concealed Tiles, which are blank symbols that reveal an adjacent symbol when activated. The game does not include a bonus buy feature. Players can aim for a maximum win of up to 5,000 times their stake. The overall theme embraces Asian aesthetics, featuring a respectful Mahjong style along with floral and numbered tile symbols, complemented by seasonal effects that enhance the game's atmosphere.

You can try it for free in demo mode or play it for real money.
