Book of Yuletide from Quickspin is a video slot game with five reels and three rows in a so-called "Book" style. The game has ten fixed paylines and is set in a festive theme where Anti-Santa and his mischievous elves spread unexpected gifts to those who have been a bit naughty. The game features both Wild and Scatter symbols, which is a snowman book motif that acts as both a wild and scatter symbol alongside the regular character and "royal" symbols.
When three or more of these book symbols land anywhere on the reels in the base game, the Free Spins feature is activated with four free spins. The number of book symbols (three, four, or five) then determines how many "Picks" the player gets in the Pick and Click feature: three, six, or twelve choices. In the same mode as Free Spins begins, a random expanding symbol is also selected from the non-expanding symbols and a multiplier starts at 1×.
At the start of Free Spins, the player first enters the Pick and Click round where they pick gifts to reveal rewards: extra spins, more expanding symbols, or higher multipliers. During the Free Spins round, the chosen expanding symbol(s) will expand if enough of that type land to create a win – these symbols can cover entire reels and pay regardless of position when expansion occurs. If three or more book symbols land again during Free Spins, two additional free spins are added along with more "Picks" depending on how many book symbols were received.
The game offers a Buy Feature, where the player can buy directly into the Pick and Click mode with three different price points depending on whether they want to activate with 3, 4, or 5 book symbols ("wilds/scatters") from the start. The maximum win in Book of Yuletide is very high and can reach up to approximately 32,760 times the bet. Overall, Book of Yuletide is a game where the festive feeling, strategic choices via Pick and Click, and the opportunity to collect big wins through expanding symbols and multipliers are at the forefront.
