Return to Paris is a video slot by Betsoft set in a Parisian museum where a Thief steals artwork while a Policeman chases him on the reels, animating a theme of theft, pursuit, and stolen collections. The game takes place on a 5×3 grid with 20 fixed paylines. During the base game, every time the Thief symbol appears, he steals an adjacent symbol, which is added to a collection and increases the multiplier associated with that symbol. The Policeman, when he appears, returns the stolen symbols to the museum and resets the multiplier to x1. If the Thief and the Policeman land on adjacent positions on the reels, the Wild Explosion feature is activated, transforming nearby symbols, including the two protagonists, into Wild symbols. The Free Spins mode, called Endless Heist Mona Lisa Free Spins, is unlocked when three Mona Lisa scatter symbols appear on the middle reels (2, 3, and 4), and it does not have a fixed number of free spins: it continues until the Policeman catches the Thief, with a maximum limit of 1,000 spins. During this mode, both the Thief and the Policeman move randomly across the grid on each spin, continuing to steal and return symbols as in the base game. The Wild explosion can no longer be activated during the free spins, as the feature ends just when the two symbols become adjacent. The game heavily focuses on the interaction between the Thief and the Policeman, on the accumulable multipliers, and on the narrative tension of the chase.
