Shell Shock

Shell Shock from Rival is a video slot with 5 reels and 15 fixed paylines. The game features a gothic horror theme where laboratories, mutated animals, and horror icons create a creepy atmosphere, with symbols like “Frankenturtle,” brains in jars, and mad scientists adorning the reels. The wild symbol is the slot's logo “Shell Shock” and it substitutes for all other symbols except for the scatter; additionally, it adds a 2× multiplier on wins in the base game. The scatter symbol “Frankenturtle” triggers the bonus feature when at least three appear anywhere, awarding 10 free spins. Depending on how many scatter symbols trigger the free spins, extra payouts are also awarded – for example, 3, 4, or 5 scatters provide different multipliers up to a high value. During the free spins, there are no special additional modifiers beyond the basic wild multipliers, keeping the focus on landing symbols and wilds for bigger wins. The volatility is low, meaning relatively frequent smaller wins rather than big jumps, and the minimum and maximum bet levels are set so that both cautious and slightly more adventurous players can participate. There is no bonus buy feature, and the game does not offer a progressive jackpot. Shell Shock combines atmosphere, simple yet effective bonus features, and visual style for players who appreciate drama without too much complexity.
