Cornelius

Cornelius is a video slot from Netent, featuring 5 reels and 4 rows with 1,024 paylines. The focus is on the cat Cornelius, who has a fondness for treats, and the entire game takes place in a charming, cartoonish kitchen filled with food-related symbols such as cat food, milk bottles, and toy fish. There is no wild symbol in the game.

The main feature is called Cash Drop and is activated when at least three Cash Drop symbols appear anywhere on the reels in the base game. Each of these symbols has a value between 0.25× and 3× the bet and grants three respins. During the respins, the Cash Drop symbols move down one row with each spin, and the values are collected in the bowl of Cornelius; if new Cash Drop symbols appear, the respin counter resets to three.

The Free Spins feature is triggered when three or more scatter symbols appear. The triggering scatters transform into Cash Drop symbols and immediately activate the Cash Drop feature. During the free spin round, unique symbols can appear: Up, Golden Up, Adder, and Multiplier. Up raises Cash Drop and multiplier symbols up one row, allowing them to stay on the reels longer, Golden Up moves them to the highest available spot, Adder adds a random value to all Cash Drop symbols, and Multiplier doubles the values before wins are evaluated.

Additionally, the game offers a Bonus Buy feature (where permitted), allowing the player to purchase access to Free Spins directly for 100 times the bet. Cornelius does not have a separate bonus round aside from Cash Drop and Free Spins, but the combination of modifiers makes the free spin round particularly dynamic. A trend in the game is that every symbol landing during the free spin round resets the spin counter to three – the game ends when no new special symbols appear in three consecutive spins.
