Merlin’s Mania

Merlin’s Mania by Hacksaw is a video slot with a 6×5 grid where you win as soon as you have at least eight identical symbols anywhere on the reels (“scatter pays”), and winning symbols disappear to make way for new symbols (“cascading wins”). The game takes place in a magical world around the wizard Merlin, featuring classic magical attributes such as pillars, jars, spell books, and mysterious powders in dark tones and a gothic atmosphere.

An important feature is the “Mystery Symbol” mechanism: per spin, between 2 and 30 mystery symbols can appear that reveal what type of symbol is inside — this can be a regular paying symbol, a Wild, an Adder Wild, or an Activator Wild. The Adder Wild increases the global win multiplier (“Global Multiplier”) by between +1 and +100 and acts as a Wild; the Activator Wild will use the current multiplier for every win it participates in. In the free spins mode, Sticky Activator Wilds can appear that stay in place until the free spins end.

There are two free spins rounds: the “Wizard’s Favor” is activated when you get three scatter symbols, granting you eight spins and starting the multiplier at x1; each additional scatter in this mode gives one extra free spin. The second round is called “Merlin’s Insanity”; it is activated with four scatter symbols, giving you ten spins, with a global multiplier starting at x5, with the same bonus spin extension for extra scatters.

The game also offers a “Bonus Buy” option (not available in all jurisdictions), allowing players to purchase certain bonus features directly. Options include FeatureSpins for increased bonus chances (“BonusHunt”), Mystery Madness FeatureSpins with guaranteed types of symbols, or going directly to Wizard’s Favor or Merlin’s Insanity free spins. The maximum win in this game can reach up to 12,000 times the bet.

You can try it for free in demo mode or play it for real money.
