Gates of Thunder by Yggdrasil is a video slot set in the mythic realm of Asgard, featuring Thor as its central figure and surrounded by Norse-themed symbols like gemstones, wolves, hammers and runes. The grid is 6 reels by 5 rows and uses a scatter-pay mechanic rather than traditional paylines; wins form when eight or more matching symbols appear anywhere on the reels. There is a tumble (cascade) feature: whenever you land a win, the winning symbols are removed and replaced by new ones from above, which can produce additional wins in a single spin.

Multiplier symbols can appear during any spin or tumble in both the base game and free spins; these carry values from 2x up to 25x and are summed at the end of each tumble sequence and applied to the total win. There are also Global Multiplier symbols, which multiply the current total multiplier by values up to 20x, even if no win has occurred in that spin. Free spins are triggered by landing three or more Scatter symbols; depending on how many appear, you receive 10 or 15 spins, and in case of five or six scatters you also begin the free spins round with a 50x starting multiplier.
