Reel King

Novomatic's Reel King is a classic video slot that features a layout of 5 reels and 3 rows, along with 20 fixed paylines, evoking the nostalgic essence of traditional fruit machines. The game showcases familiar symbols, including cherries, plums, lucky sevens, high-value coins or sacks, and playing card icons, all presented in a vibrant retro style. A charming king mascot makes an appearance when the bonus feature is activated. The Wild symbol, designed like a jester’s hat, substitutes for other symbols but is limited to reels 3, 4, and 5. Notably, the base game lacks a Scatter symbol or a typical Free Spins round.

The standout feature is the Reel King bonus, which can trigger randomly after any spin, regardless of the outcome. When activated, up to five Reel King characters may show up above the reels, with each one controlling a mini-slot reel set that continues to deliver wins until a non-winning spin occurs, at which point that King vanishes. These mini-slots exclusively feature “sevens” symbols and can yield payouts that vary significantly, potentially reaching several hundred times the original bet in favorable scenarios.

Additionally, players can utilize a Gamble feature after any win, allowing them to risk their winnings in a chance-based game, such as guessing red or black, to attempt to double their amount. The highest payouts in the game are achieved through a combination of regular wins and those obtained from the bonus Reel King feature. The design opts for straightforward mechanics, steering clear of modern elements like cascading reels or progressive multipliers, making it appealing for those who appreciate simplicity and a nod to the heritage of fruit machines, along with the occasional unexpected bonus.
