Lock Breakers - Golden Nuts

"Lock Breakers - Golden Nuts" from Novomatic is a video slot featuring a 5×3 reel setup with 40 fixed paylines. The game presents a whimsical woodland treasure theme, highlighting a gold-obsessed squirrel wild surrounded by nuts and locked jackpot symbols. Key mechanics involve locked nut and jackpot symbols that can appear on any reel except the center; their rewards are unlocked only when the squirrel wild occupies the middle position of the third reel during the same spin. Players can aim for four fixed jackpot tiers: Mini, Minor, Major, and Grand, with the Grand Jackpot offering a payout of up to 1,000 times the current bet.

At the beginning of a spin, a Magic Spin can activate, placing the squirrel wild in the center and introducing a random number of locked nuts or jackpots on the reels. Additionally, Magic Rewind can occur in both the base game and during free spins, allowing the center reel to rewind to reveal a squirrel wild, while non-winning symbols may transform into locked jackpot symbols. When specific baskets fill with nuts due to the squirrel's appearances, they burst to grant Free Games—one bursting basket awards 6 free spins, while both bursting baskets yield 12 free spins. During these Free Games, the squirrel remains locked in the center reel, and any locked nuts or jackpot symbols that appear are instantly unlocked and rewarded.

In the base game, players have the option to use a Buy Bonus feature, enabling them to pay a fixed multiplier of their total bet to directly enter a spin that guarantees the squirrel in the center and at least one bursting basket for triggering Free Games. The betting range accommodates various stakes, with minimum and maximum amounts per spin varying by jurisdiction. Lower-value symbols include fruit-themed icons and playing card symbols.
