Moon Princess Extreme is a video slot developed by Play’n GO, played on a 5x5 grid. Wins are awarded when three or more matching symbols appear in a horizontal or vertical line. Winning symbols are removed from the grid and new symbols fall in their place (falling symbols), continuing as long as new wins are formed. With each fall, the win multiplier increases. When three symbol wins are removed, a Wild symbol appears; this symbol replaces the middle symbol and helps create more wins during the falling symbols.

On spins that do not yield a win, one of the three princesses - Love, Star, or Storm - can activate her unique power: Love transforms a group of symbols into another group, Star adds one or two Wilds randomly, and Storm removes two groups of symbols from the grid. Wins that include the princess symbol fill the Trinity Meter; when this meter is completely filled and all falls have ended, it triggers a special Trinity round where the three princesses use their powers in turn.

During the Trinity round, Free Spins are unlocked by completely clearing the grid. Before Free Spins begin, you choose a princess; this determines your starting number of free spins and which princess's power will activate on each losing spin. During Free Spins, the win multiplier carries over from the base game and continues to rise up to a maximum of x1,000.
