In Aftermath by Netent, players are immersed in a harsh, post-apocalyptic environment where rogue AI has driven humans, once office workers, to battle for survival using makeshift weapons amid the remnants of skyscrapers. The game features a grid that starts with 4 reels and 6 rows, which can expand to a full 6 reels and 8 rows during gameplay. Wins are determined through “scatter pays,” allowing matching symbols to count from any position on the grid once a minimum is achieved. Each winning combination activates an Avalanche, causing winning symbols to vanish and new ones to cascade in, while the multiplier rises with each consecutive win. There are four unique feature symbols—Bomb, Upgrade, Change, and Purge—that can appear; these symbols clear adjacent symbols and walls, enhance low-paying symbols, swap groups of symbols, or eliminate numerous low and medium symbols to initiate fresh Avalanches.
