Vikings Go Berzerk is a video slot by Yggdrasil set in the world of Vikings, featuring 5 reels, 4 rows, and 25 fixed paylines. The theme combines marine and mythological imagery: ships, mermaids, and Norse warriors animated by an epic soundtrack create an intense and adventurous atmosphere.
A key mechanic is the "Rage Meter" system: there are four Vikings, each with their own meter that fills up every time their respective symbol appears during spins. When one of the meters is full, that Viking enters Berzerk mode and in the subsequent free spins session acts as a fixed "sticky wild" for the duration of the feature.
Free spins are also triggered by scatters: three scatter symbols award 7 free spins, four give 14, and five grant 21. Before the free spins begin, an additional bonus is randomly chosen, such as a wild reel, an initial wild, extra free spins, or the Ragnarök Free Spins where all Vikings enter Berzerk mode.
Another feature is the regular "Treasure Chest," which appears on reel 4: when it appears, you are asked to choose from prizes that can be instant wins, free spins, or various bonuses. There is also the Golden Treasure Chest on reel 5, an enhanced version that offers greater rewards, often more free spins, boosts to the Rage Meter, or access to the Ragnarök Free Spins.
During the free spins, every time a Viking appears, a battle against a mermaid begins: if the Viking wins, they become a sticky wild for the rest of the turn. If they are in Berzerk mode, they always win, and the wild becomes permanent for the entire session. Regular wilds substitute for all normal symbols except for scatters.
The game does not have a bonus buy option, but the variety of features such as the rage meter, regular and golden chests, free spins with random modifiers, and the Berzerk mode make for a complex and dynamic experience.
If you are a fan of Viking-themed slots with abundant features, Vikings Go Berzerk offers both moments of pure adrenaline and the chance for exciting bonus sessions.
You can try it for free in demo mode or play it for real money.
