Up Helly Aa

Up Helly Aa, created by Kagaming, is a traditional video slot that features 5 reels and 3 rows with 25 fixed paylines. The game is inspired by the historic Viking festival known as Up Helly Aa, incorporating symbols like Viking ships, horned helmets, shields, and double-headed axes that reflect a Nordic and maritime theme. Among its special symbols, the Wild Torch functions as a wild symbol, while the Viking Ship serves as the Scatter symbol. To activate the Free Spins feature, players need to land three or more Scatter symbols; three Scatters yield 15 free spins, four provide 20, and five result in 25 spins. During these free spins, the active paylines increase from 25 to 35, which enhances the potential for winning combinations. The gameplay becomes more dynamic, although the fundamental mechanics stay the same. The Wild Torch can also appear as a Double Wild, acting as two symbols on a single reel, which increases the chances of creating winning combinations, potentially allowing for up to nine symbols on a payline. It is important to note that the free spins cannot be retriggered; once activated, they remain fixed for that session. Furthermore, players have the option to use a Bonus Buy feature, enabling them to purchase access to the free spins mode directly at a cost that is a multiple of the standard base bet.
