Big Juan

Big Juan by Pragmatic Play is a video slot set at a colorful Mexican party filled with mariachi music, piñatas, guitars, and spicy peppers. The game features a 5-reel, 4-row grid with 40 fixed paylines, where the most common symbols are the royals (10, J, Q, K, A) and the higher ones include thematic items such as a guitar, hot sauce, a dog with a sombrero, a lady, and Big Juan itself. In the base game, a Wild symbol represented by a red pepper appears, which substitutes for all paying symbols except for the BONUS symbol (piñata); this Wild does not appear during the respins feature.

A standout feature of the base game is the “Wild Switch” function: when at least six identical symbols land on reels 2, 3, and 4, all those symbols transform into Wild symbols, potentially generating larger winning combinations. To access the main bonus, you must land 3, 4, or 5 BONUS symbols (piñatas), which activates the respins feature with 10, 12, or 15 respins respectively. During the respins, the grid transforms into a special 3×3 format with an additional single-position reel.

In the center of the grid during the respins, there is a fixed Bag of Coins symbol, while the other spaces can reveal money symbols with random values, Extra Spin symbols, or Jackpot symbols (Mini, Minor, Major, Grand). On the additional reel, which appears only during the respins, a Win symbol collects the values of the visible coins and the bag, while a Boost symbol adds the values of all coins to the central bag for later play.

Big Juan offers four fixed Jackpots: Mini, Minor, Major, and Grand, which are obtained by collecting a specific number of corresponding symbols during the respins. It also features a Bonus Buy option, allowing players to enter the respins round directly by paying a cost equivalent to 100 times the bet.

The game is noted for its high volatility and a maximum win potential of up to 2,600 times the bet, especially accessible through the respins feature and the Jackpots. Big Juan combines a vibrant presentation with special mechanics that offer excitement in both the base game and the bonus wheel.
