Jacks or Better

Jacks or Better by Espresso is a classic video poker game played with a standard deck of cards, and each hand is reshuffled. After being dealt five cards, players must decide which cards to keep ("hold") and which to discard ("discard") in order to form the strongest possible poker hand. The lowest qualifying payout occurs with a pair of Jacks ("Jacks or Better"), while higher combinations such as two pairs, three of a kind, straight, flush, full house, four of a kind, straight flush up to the royal flush yield larger winnings. There are no reels, scatters, or other typical slot symbols – the design is purely based on the poker card game.

A special feature is the "Hi-Lo" or Gamble feature: after a win, players can choose to take the win immediately or risk it in a gamble game where they must guess whether the next card is higher or lower than a revealed card. This can double the win, but if they lose, they also lose the win.

The game does not offer features such as free spins, bonus rounds, bonus buys, or multipliers outside of the gamble mode.
